Concerned with documenting personal experiences of motherhood, memory, absence, and the expectations of ‘home,’ Emma works primarily from observation, capturing transient moments of everyday life. With a focus on suburban landscape, domestic interiors, and portraits of women and children, she explores the emotional and physical subtleties that shape individual perception.
Based in south west London, Emma is a British artist with a background in production and costume design, combining influences of visual storytelling with her current practice in drawing, printmaking, and hand-drawn animation.
Emma studied BA Art & Design at Winchester and MA Production Design for Film and Television at Kingston. She worked for a number of years in both production and costume design, twice winning the BBC Visions Design Award for ‘Art Direction : Drama.’
Emma recently spent time studying with The Royal Drawing School on the Online Drawing Development Year 2024.
